Fans of the Marvel Universe across the world are being swayed by the Avengers: Infinity War storm. This Hollywood superhero flick released on April 27 and is recreating box-office history in North America, India and Rest of World.
In North America, Avengers: Infinity War is estimated to collect over a whopping USD 247.1 million in its opening weekend, standing next only to Star Wars The Force Awakens’ USD 247.91 million record. However, a clear picture on the final first weekend record will emerge by Sunday.
In India, Avengers: Infinity War released in more than 2,000 screens in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film collected a stunning Rs 61.80 Cr nett from Rs 79.23 Cr gross in just 2 days. These numbers are on par with top Bollywood stars’ movies.
In Chennai, the film stunned everyone by minting a sensational Rs 78 lakh gross on Friday, surpassing leading Tamil star Suriya’s TSK’s opening day record (Rs 74 lakhs). And finally, in the two Telugu states, the film collected a solid Rs 3 crore gross and is all set for a mammoth weekend. Latest Tollywood blockbusters Bharat Ane Nenu and Rangasthalam are facing a tough competition from Avengers: Infinity War at the multiplexes.
