Icon star Allu Arjun has promoted his pan-Indian film ‘Pushpa – The Rise’ without a gap since the past few days. During the press meet, there was one question that was asked by many across the major cities. It is about Allu Arjun not dubbing for his character of Pushparaj in other languages. As we know, a lot of Tamil heroes like Karthi, Vishal and others dub in Telugu for their Tamil films. Even Dulquer Salman dubbed in Telugu for movies like ‘Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante’ and ‘Mahanati’.
When asked about why he confined himself to Telugu but decided not to dub in other languages, he replied, “I don’t have any ‘paithyam’ to dub in all the languages. No matter how impressive a non-Telugu artist’s Telugu dubbing is, somewhere we feel his dialect and diction are not sounding native. If I dub in Tamil or Hindi, surely I will sound quite different from a native speaker. To avoid that, I’ve left that dubbing to local talents only to not spoil the greatness of the film.”
While there is some truth attached to Bunny’s answer, a few netizens are taking it out of context and are implying that these comments are aimed at ‘RRR’ heroes NTR and Ram Charan. As we know, both the star heroes will be dubbing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages for their roles in Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. Barring Malayalam, they are lending their own voices for ‘RRR’ which was applauded by many. They are being praised for putting a lot of effort into dubbing in various languages which are not their mother tongue. While it is creating a fuss on the internet, many are claiming that Allu Arjun did not dub in other languages as ‘Pushpa’ follows a unique dialect and a non-native speaker cannot bring a lot of ease to the role. The case of ‘RRR’ is different as the heroes do not speak in unique accents.
It is up to the hero to decide what is good for his film. Let us not dwell too much into these rumors. Currently, ‘Pushpa’ is enjoying tremendous openings and fans are very happy. Allu Arjun is getting universal applause from all over and Sukumar managed to deliver a hit once again despite its shortcomings.
