After being ordered by the Supreme Court to surrender immediately, AIADMK chief Sasikala on Wednesday decided to obey the apex court’s order. However, it was her weird behavior at the memorial of late TN CM and her mentor Jayalalithaa that surprised many.
On her way from Chennai to Bengaluru to surrender, Sasikala stopped at the memorial of Jayalalithaa that was situated at the Marina Beach and seemed like she took a sort of mighty vow. However, her gesture of hitting the shrine of Jaya very hard has been deciphered by people in different ways.
Sasikala looked very angry when she hit the tomb of Jaya and she said something which went inaudible amidst the chants and slogans of her supporters.
Before deciding to surrender, Sasikala has made her nephew, Dinakaran the party’s Deputy general secretary, which means he will be the No.2 in AIADMK. It may be recalled that he was expelled by Jayalalithaa in 2011 along with other family members of Sasikala.
She justified her act by saying that Dinakaran has apologized to her in person but her act has not gone well with the followers of Amma. Some cadres of AIADMK have reportedly opined that Sasikala betrayed Jayalalithaa.
