After Sharmila, another player is tying pads to play on Telangana’s political pitch

Elections are a good two years away, but Telangana’s political puddle is getting increasingly muddled with the entry of ever newer players. The BJP and the Congress are already there and they are making strong bids to capture the imagination of the voters. Both have two big-ticket entries – Eatala Rajender joining the BJP and Revanth Reddy becoming the TPCC chief. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister YS Sharmila too has already sounded her bugle with the formation of the YSR Telangana Party on Thursday. She is trying to bring in several disgruntled politicians from all the political parties and the former colleagues of YSR into her fold.

Another player is tying his pads and wearing his gloves to bat on Telangana’s political pitch. Teen Maar Mallanna, who had emerged a powerful political player with his stunning performance in the recent Graduate MLC elections in Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency, too is throwing his hat in the ring. He is all set to take out a padayatra across Telangana and as a preparatory exercise, he is planning to organize a massive rally on July 18. The padayatra would be 6000 km-long and would span several months, according to sources. Interestingly, the rally would be held in Ghatkesar, a Hyderabad suburb in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Mallanna alias Naveen Kumar, who shot to fame through his TV performances, has already appointed district conveners for the purpose. A state-level coordination committee too has been convened to ensure coordination for the programme. Dasari Bhumaiah will be the convener of the state committee.

Mallanna will highlight the failures of the TRS government and the plight of the unemployed youth and marginalized communities. He has given the slogan of liberating ‘mother Telangana’ from the Gadis (citadels) of the TRS. So, exciting political action is predicted in the days to come in Telangana. Let’s wait and watch!!
