Another Disappointing Weekend For Tollywood!

The month of August was fruitful at the Telugu box office. Despite a few flops like ‘Macherla Niyojakavargam’ and ‘Liger’, there were memorable hits like ‘Bimbisara’, ‘Sita Ramam’ and ‘Karthikeya 2’ which brought huge profits to the buyers. September started on a good note as the Telugu version of ‘Brahmastra’ got decent collections and Sharwanand’s ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ got a very good response too.

Many expected this week’s releases to perform well at the box office too but things did not go as planned. Sudheer Babu’s ‘Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali’ did not create the desired magic. The usual beautiful moments we see in a Mohan Krishna Indraganti love story went missing this time and the film managed to get mixed reviews. The second half turned out to be too slow and heavily dramatic which disappointed the audience.

Coming to ‘Saakini Daakini’, many are saying that it is an OTT film and the lack of twists and turns did not impress the audience. Despite the good performances of Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra, the movie got negative reviews for the critics as well as the audience. Apart from a few action scenes and a couple of fun scenes, there is nothing more to talk about the film.

Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Nenu Meeku Baaga Kaavalisinavadini’ too failed to get a positive talk. The young hero is coming up with one routine commercial flick after another. The movie is neither entertaining nor engaging and follows the 90s formula which is outdated now. There is nothing to praise in this movie barring Kiran’s decent and natural acting.

The three releases did not reach the expectations and analysts are predicting a very dull run at the Tollywood box office. Let us wait and see how the next weekend is going to be.

Prabhas Fans Hopeful for “Kalki 2898 AD” After Andhra Pradesh Elections

May 14, 2024

Prabhas fans of the upcoming sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD” expressed concern due to the open political support of producer Ashwini Dutt for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Fans worried that a potential win by the YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) could lead to benefits like lower ticket prices and special shows for the film.

Recent polls and predictions suggest a potential change in the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh.
A TDP-Janasena-BJP alliance is expected to form the government, according to many analysts.

This political shift has instilled hope among “Kalki 2898 AD” fans.
They anticipate a more lenient stance on ticket pricing and special shows under a TDP government.

The presence of Pawan Kalyan, a popular actor himself and part of the potential ruling alliance, further fuels their optimism for support.

“Kalki 2898 AD” is slated to be the first pan-Indian release after the election results on June 4th.
The lack of major releases in recent months creates a clear path for the film’s success.
Fans have high expectations, even estimating that the film might surpass the opening collections of blockbusters like “Baahubali,” “KGF,” and “RRR.”

However, the film’s performance in Andhra Pradesh, a key market, hinges on Ashwini Dutt’s political wish coming true.

The upcoming Andhra Pradesh election results hold significant weight for the release of “Kalki 2898 AD.” While the film enjoys national interest and high expectations, its performance in the home state heavily relies on the political landscape that emerges after the votes are counted.
