Now, TRS leaders file case against Chandrababu

As a retaliation to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s comments calling the Telangana government and the Centre as “economic terrorists,” referring to the IT Grids case, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders approached the police with a complaint on the AP Chief Minister for ‘hurting the sentiments of Telangana people.’

“We have registered a case against TDP Chief and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for hurting our sentiments. He is hurting the image of Telangana people and the state. This is not the right way to behave,” said TRS leaders, after filing a case. The IT Grids case and the alleged data theft has become a bone of contention between the two states, creating bitterness between the two.

Just yesterday, AP Chief Minister said that the Telangana government and the Centre are terrorising companies and people belonging to Andhra Pradesh with I-T raids and other such blackmail tactics “like in Bihar.” Accusing the Telangana government of foisting false cases on AP government, he said that the TRS, BJP and the YSRCP are trying their best to destabilise AP government.

Responding to this, political observers have pointed out that these allegations and counter-allegations will continue because this is the elections season. However, they pointed out that the TRS leaders also need to be aware that their party Chief and other leaders create a “worse anti-Andhra sentiment during the Telangana elections, by badmouthing Andhra people. They also need to remember that they had gone very personal and did make an effort to sow seeds of bitterness against AP people living in Telangana.” So, they need to understand that “using sentiment in this case and making it a Telangana image” issue doesn’t work as it is purely a political fight between the two parties, said the political observer.
