No doubt, Baahubali has made Prabhas a huge star. Cutting across the borders, regions, the magnum opus film by SS Rajamouli established Prabhas as a noted actor and thus established his market. The film went onto mint money at the Box Office and stood among the top 5 collecting films in India.
But the major question is who’ll get the main credit? And how much credit comes to Prabhas? Or simply, we can put this way. What would be the true market of Prabhas as a solo hero i.e., Baahubali minus Rajamouli. This is a debatable topic for sure.
Now, reportedly, the budget of Prabhas’ next – Prabhas 19 – is pegged at Rs 150 Crore and being made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. India’s premier technicians – Shankar Ehsaan Loy for Music, National Award-winning production designer Sabu Cyril (who worked for films such as Robo ) for production design – have been zeroed in on for the project.
Well, on paper it all looks good. But when it’s coming to economics, one has to see how far it’s feasible.
One-movie-old Sujeeth, of Run Raja Run fame, is wielding the megaphone. And many doubts, apprehensions on the huge budget are doing the rounds. Will it work? That’s million dollar question at the moment.
