10 naxals killed in a Joint-Operation

In an anti-Naxal operation by Telangana and Chattisgarh state police, ten maoists were reportedly killed in Chattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Friday morning.

The Bijapur SP Mohit Garg said the naxals were gunned down in Pujari Kanker forests which come under Pamed police station area, around 500 kms from Raipur. The Joint operation is a collective effort of Telangana and Chattisgarh police took place around 6:30 AM this morning. A cache of guns & weapons were recovered from the encounter site.

While the dead bodies of 10 naxals were sent to near by hospital for post-mortem, the greyhound commando who’s injured in this attack was later found to be dead while getting medical treatment.

Although the identity of killed Maoists was not yet known, officials believe that some top Naxal leaders could be among those killed. More details would be emerge soon.
