India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump had a brief 30-minute discussion over phone on Monday evening. As tweeted by PM Modi, the global leaders had a discussion on bilateral and regional matters. Also, the telephonic conversation covered PM Modi highlighting the importance of creating an environment free from terror and violence and eschewing cross-border terrorism without exception.
On the other hand, Trump & Modi also discussed bilateral trade prospects and recalled their meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Osaka. After scrapping Article 370 and bifurcating Kashmir, our neighboring nation has highlighted it on the international stage to grab the attention of the world. As part of it, Pakistan PM Imran Khan escalated the matter to UNSC with help of China. Apart from that, Imran also reached out to US President Trump to gather support on the issue. But, Pakistan couldn’t get any support from global leaders at the closed-door meeting by the UN.
At this juncture, Modi speaking to US President Trump over has got high importance as it will likely bring an end to Kashmir Issue and isolate Pakistan on the International arena.
