Chandrababu Literally ‘Begged’ For Votes

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s campaigns this election season have been very different and dramatic. Anyone who has followed him and observed his campaigning style will vouch for this. In fact, his headset mic gave him a lot of leverage to free himself and campaign aggressively for the Telugu Desam Party. On the other hand, he has also made several sincere appeals to voters to bring him back to power.

One striking feature of his appeal was his action of folding hands and bending over repeatedly, seeking votes from people along with their blessings. This has been upsetting a lot of his fans and followers as he literally went overboard and “begged” for votes. Never ever has he gone to this level to seek votes, say his fans on social media. He has also urged them that “don’t look at me and vote. Look at your future and look at the development we have been able to do. Make a choice wisely.”

His appeals have been really heart-touching and emotional. Even in his presentation last evening, a quote mentioned: “I’m not going to be here permanently, the state will be permanent, your kids will be its future and I may not be here to see their future. But, I can definitely create a bright future for them. Your future is my responsibility.”

He even pointed out that if TDP cannot win this election, it could be his last term as the Chief Minister. Political observers who have been following Chandrababu’s campaigning style over the years say that this election season has been very different. “He has stooped very low which he didn’t have to do. Last election, after bifurcation, people voted for him because they trusted him that he could build AP from scratch. This election, he has proved that he is capable of development. His work is visible,” said an analyst.

One wonders about why Chandrababu had to choose to seek votes in such a humbling way or was it one of his strategies, keeping the changing electorate in mind? Whatever the outcome of AP assembly elections, Chandrababu has definitely made it to one of the most significant leaders in the history of AP politics and no one can change that!
