Malayalam film Premam was one of the all time biggest hits. Its lead actor Nivin Pauly sported lungi, which was beguiling moment for spectators. The way Nivin Pauly folded the lungi and walked really had an impact on the audience. In fact, youngsters copied this look because they found it macho and even girl fans wore lungi to express their liking for the attire.
Now, Naga Chaitanya who is starring in Telugu remake of Premam is also donning lungi in the romantic tale. One thing for sure is his lungi avatar will enthrall ANR and Nagarjuna fans. While his grandpa ANR was popular for panche kattu, his dad Nagarjuna also wore the outfit in few of films including his last outing Soggade Chinni Nayana.
So, while it was panche kattu for dad and grandpa, it is lungi for Chaitu. In the original version, hero Nivin Pauly along with his friends walks into the college donning lungi. It is heard that, director Chandoo Mondeti is changing the sequence since it is not a Telugu tradition.
However, Chaitu will sport lungi in another scene which is yet to be shot. During Soggade Chinni Nayana promotions, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil were seen in panche kattu. Now, Chaitu is ready to enthrall Akkineni fans with beard look and sporting lungi.
