It has been a long wait for India’s top director Shankar’s fans, who sought their favourite director to be honoured with Padma award by the Government of India. Unfortunately, there has been no such recognition for the director from the governments as of now.
This year too, Shankar’s fans hoped the director to receive the honour from the Government. But nothing of that sort was happened. On the contrary, some more celebrities from various film industries across India were conferred with Padma awards. Obviously, fans were annoyed with the developments. They are hoping their favourite director would win Padma Bhushan award next year.
As we know, Shankar is known for for his message oriented commercial entertainers which have high end technical values in them. His sci-fi thriller ‘Robo’ was the biggest grosser among his films and the director is currently making the sequel of ‘Robo’ which has been titled ‘2.0’.
Shankar’s previous film ‘I’ got mixed reports on the day of its release. Even then, the movie stood as yet another 100 crores project for the director.
