Will Jagan’s government be able to overcome corruption by Judicial preview?

Every single government that comes to power always promises the public that it would make sure there is no corruption in the state. However, things change drastically when it comes to reality.

The YSRCP government is now sending 3 major projects for Judicial preview, to avoid and completely put corruption at bay. Judicial preview is a wonderful decision without a second thought, and the promise of these 3 projects being made as transparent as possible is also a great thought. These 3 projects include Ramayapatnam Port in Prakasam district, estimated at Rs. 2646.84 Crores; Bhavanapadu Port in Srikakulam district, estimated at Rs. 2573.15 Crores; and Four fishing harbours at Juvvaladinne in Nellore district, Nizampatnam in Guntur district, Machilipatnam in Krishna district and Uppada in East Godavari district. The fishing harbors are estimated at Rs. 1205.77 Crores.

Reverse tendering process is also going on currently, but there are a lot of remarks that are being made about the reverse tendering process. Several people, including political leaders, are saying that the YSRCP is accepting tenders from only those who are affiliated to them, and are completely avoiding companies and firms that are affiliated to opposition parties.

On the other hand, experts in the area are saying that there would be a lot of discrepancies when it comes to constructing the projects on ground reality, and are also hinting at the fact that while the government plans to make these projects are transparent as possible, it may not be practically possible to avoid corruption altogether.

Only time will tell if Jagan will successfully rid these projects of corruption, or if this would also be another futile trial, like all the governments that preceeeded him.
