TDP leader Pattabhi Ram sent to 14 days remand

It is known that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader K Pattabhi Ram was arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly using abusive remarks against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Pattabhi Ram was brought to Vijayawada on Thursday evening by the police, who brought him from Thotlavalluru PS to Vijayawada.

On this occasion, the TDP leader’s lawyer asked to give station bail. Responding to this, the public prosecutor pointed out that there were several cases against Pattabhi in the past. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge remanded him for 14 days. Earlier, Pattabhi underwent medical examinations at a government hospital.

According to police, the TDP leader was booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 153A (promoting enmity), 505 (public mischief), 353 (deter a public servant from discharge of duty), and 504 (provoking breach of the peace) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).

Pattabhi Ram’s house was also attacked by unidentified people on Tuesday after his remarks sparked a massive backlash from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) supporters.
