Letters against Jagan put in to CJI Bobde, following Jagan’s letter to CJI

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had written a letter to the Chief Justice of India a few days ago, making allegations against Supreme Court Sitting Judge, and future CJI NV Ramana. Jagan said that Ramana is influencing the judgements made by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, and is also being biased towards the TDP.

Following his statements against Ramana, and several other judges belonging to the AP High Court, members of the judicial community started heavily criticising Jagan’s letter, and his statements against the judicial system on a whole.

United Andhra Pradesh High Court’s former Judge, Naushad Ali and Supreme Court of India Lawyer Aswini Upadhyaya have written letters to the CJI, criticising Jagan’s letter. In their letter, they have stated that Jagan has attacked the judiciary, and especially Ramana, following the judgement of speeding up all the pending cases on public representatives.

They also said that Jagan is trying to benefit from the outcome of the letter he wrote, given that he is himself involved in 31 criminal cases. They have also requested for severe action to be taken against Jagan, for his statements against judges and the judiciary.

On the other hand, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court yesterday, requesting for the removal of Jagan from office, as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, keeping in view the derogatory statements he made against the judiciary and it’s members.
