Prithviraj Sukumaran, a prominent figure in Malayalam cinema, recently addressed the concept of “nepotism” while promoting his upcoming film, “The Goat Life.” The term, often used critically, refers to children of established actors or filmmakers who receive preferential treatment in the film industry.

Sukumaran, with refreshing honesty, acknowledged his own background. He credited his father, producer and actor Sukumaran, for securing his debut film, “Nandanam,” in 2002. However, he strongly emphasized that family connections merely provide an initial opportunity. “The industry gave me that first chance,” he stated, “but it’s my talent that has sustained me all these years.”
