Suriya, is currently busy filming his next project titled ‘Kanguva,’ directed by Siruthai Siva. Fans eagerly awaited news of the movie’s release date, especially with other big Tamil films already securing theirs. To delight his fans on Tamil New Year, Suriya recently shared a new poster for ‘Kanguva,’ confirming its release later this year.

The poster showcases Suriya in dual roles, engaged in a face-off, each wielding a weapon from their respective time periods. However, the exact release date remains undisclosed, disappointing some fans.

‘Kanguva’ is a period drama intertwining present-day events with a story from 500 years ago, promising viewers an enchanting fantasy experience. With a reported budget exceeding Rs 300 crore, it stands as one of Suriya’s most expensive ventures. The film’s extensive VFX work has led to delays in its release, compounded by some remaining patchwork to be filmed. Moreover, plans for a sequel are already in the pipeline.

Joining Suriya on screen is Bobby Deol portraying the antagonist, while Disha Patani takes on the female lead role. ‘Kanguva’ is slated for release in 10 Indian languages, promising to be a monumental event in Tamil cinema.
