Time was when PK’s strategies were praised to the skies. His role in the success of Nitish Kumar in 2015, AAP in 2019, Trinamool Congress in 2020, YSRCP in AP and DMK in Tamil Nadu were lauded to no end. But, all these parties were already enjoying the public support and Team PK has only channelized this support. It failed to make a sagging Congress win in UP and Punjab.
Take the case of Goa. In Goa, the BJP spent close to 18 crore for the recent assembly elections. The Congress spent about 13 crore. But, the Trinamool Congress, whose campaign was personally spearheaded by PK himself, spent a whopping 47.54 crore. This is two times more than the BJP’s spend. Despite all that, the party could not win even a single seat.
In Maharashtra too, PK helped the NCR, but the party’s performance was none too encouraging. Now, doubts have begun to arise about the efficacy of PK and his strategies. If sources serve us right, TRS boss KCR too has decided to put the work contract with Team PK on hold as he is beginning to suspect its efficacy.
