In the next couple of days, we will be witnessing another biopic on the silver screen, which happens to be that of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The charismatic leader’s hardcore fan Mahi V Raghav is directing ‘Yatra’ which is set for Feb 8th release.
Majorly this film seems to have two goals as the momentum for Andhra Pradesh general elections has picked up. And the film’s first target, if we have to go by the numerous speeches at the pre-release event of the movie, and that of Mahi’s speech itself, is to promote YS Jagan as the only one who could bring a ‘YSR Rajyam’ back.
And the second target is, how would the YSR regime not be a Congress regime? So it looks like the film will be wiping off Congress from getting any credit for YSR’s good work. Already the trailer showcased that YSR worked against high command’s wishes to help Andhra and Telangana people, and more of such is expected inside the movie too, say sources.
These two targets are sure achievable, but any slight deviation from known facts and unwanted projection of greatness will lead to a disaster. Still, have doubts, ask Kathanayakudu and Thackeray!
