Will not implement Motor Vehicle Act: KCR

In a relief to all the commuters in Telangana, CM KCR has clarified that they will not implement the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019 in the state and will bring their own law in the coming days.

Regarding the same, KCR addressed the Assembly on Sunday as part of budget sessions. “We are not in a hurry to implement the new traffic rules. We have no intention to penalise the people with heavy fines,” said KCR. Further he informed the Assembly that the state government has appointed a committee that will look into the new regulations of traffic.

There is a political angle in these remarks too. The BJP government is under severe criticism for the new Motor Vehicle Act and if TRS government implements this, the public will openly express their dissent against the state government. So KCR made a statement regarding the same in the Assembly that they will bring new law, simultaneously also the fines.

This comes on the contrary to IT minister and KCR’s son KTR who earlier defended hefty penalties on the traffic offenders. Last week while addressing the media, KTR said, violators should be imposed with fines and then there would be a discipline following the traffic rules.
