In a meeting that could alter the fate of the party in the upcoming elections in Telangana, party Chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao will meet 105 candidates he has chosen to field from his party. The meeting will be held in Telangana Bhavan where KCR is said to present his survey results on the candidates.
According to sources within the party, nearly 40 candidates may lose in their constituency. . “He will give 20 days to the candidates and analyse their candidature after that. If there is no further improvement in the sentiment for the respective candidate, KCR will choose another person for that seat,” a source revealed.
While this seems to be the litmus test of candidates, it is also a test of KCR’s might in the state and reflects how TRS is losing people’s support. Political observers say that losing 40 candidates is almost equal to losing power.
Going by his own survey results, KCR will need to sharpen his knives and put his best foot forward by fielding the right candidates for the seats. This scenario also shows that the TRS needs to up the ante and needs to plan its victory well.
