Lyca Productions reportedly asked Shankar to give a clear budget estimate for Indian 2 and the director refused to do so.
Shankar is not a director who makes movies within a restricted budget. But Lyca is not willing to make the same mistake they had done for 2.0, which ended up as a cost failure.
With Lyca giving an ultimatum to Shankar to sign a contract that he would make Indian 2 within the quoted budget, the film is now facing the threat of getting shelved.
Shankar is trying to rope in other producers from Telugu film industry and Hindi cinema to do it as per his convenience. However, none are interested to risk huge money in a Shankar’s film after looking at the result of 2.0.
Dil Raju who was keen to produce Indian 2 backed off because of Shankar’s unrealistic demands and cost estimates.
If Shankar disagrees to abide the Lyca’s terms and conditions, Indian 2 may hit a massive roadblock and will struggle to overcome it.
