Butta to say bye-bye to TDP?

In a rapidly changing political scenario in Andhra Pradesh, there has been large scale of defection of leaders from one party to another.

Those who had left one party to join the other in the past, are staging a comeback to the same party after realizing that they have a bleak future there.

The classic example of this phenomenon is Kurnool MP Butta Renuka. She got elected on YSR Congress party ticket in 2014, but defected to the Telugu Desam Party within a couple of years after being lured by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in an attempt to demoralize the YSRC.

Now, Renuka is planning to stage a comeback to the YSRC, which has reportedly promised her the ticket for Kurnool LS seat. She is expected to meet YSRC president Y S Jagan in a day or two.

All these days, Renuka had been given the impression that she would be fielded from Kurnool in the Lok Sabha elections again.

Naidu had given her firm assurance to that effect. Not long ago, Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh during his Kurnool visit declared that Butta would be the TDP candidate for Kurnool LS seat again.

But her fate took a sudden twist with the entry of former Union minister Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy along with his wife and ex-MLA Kotla Sujatha and son Raghavendra Reddy into the TDP.

Sujathamma has been given from Aluru assembly constituency and Kotla is most likely to get the party ticket from Kurnool.

This has shocked Renuka, who wanted to know her fate. Apparently, the TDP leadership has offered party ticket for Adoni assembly constituency, but she flatly refused. Naidu, who does not want to lose her at any cost, even promised to make her Rajya Sabha member.

Yet, Renuka was not convinced. She reportedly contacted YSRC leadership and got an assurance for Kurnool MP ticket.
